Support for Firefox 3

I am using this extension with Firefox 3 (made it compatible using
Nightly Tester Tools). While most of the things work fine, there are
the following glitches:

- Bookmark Sync does not happen (Forced Sync/Fresh Sync)... so I used
the del.icio.us RDF file from an older profile.
- If I add a new Bookmark on Delicious it does not show up in Firefox
(but the other way round works perfectly fine)

Can you please fix these glitches. It will be very helpful for people
who use Firefox 3. Thanks.

We're working on fixing issues with Minefield. Once we have a
stable-ish build, I'll upload it to the extension group
(delicious-firefox-extension on Y!Groups).

While you are working on it, please get the following to work...this
is what I am missing most (besides syncing ofcourse):
- Search keywords support (I have around 70 of them stored on
delicious and now suddenly I can't use them)
- URL alias (keywords again)

I really really hope to see the new version of this extension soon. I
am literally crippled without it.

Also, a long time back I had requested a feature. Am not sure if you
noticed it. Will it be possible to provide a preference/option whereby
I can 'always' open a delicious bookmark in a 'New Tab' instead of the
current tab. That will be great too.

Thanks a ton. Will check on this forum daily for a new version :-))
[With over 700 bookmarks and 70 search keywords on Delicious, Yes...I
am desperate :-)]

Thanks for this amazing extension.

Hi Nick,

Any idea on when can we expect Firefox 3 support, now that the Beta is
out?

Thanks.

I tried to post a message on YDN forums but somehow wasn't able to. I mean
it doesn't show up.

Anyways, I just wanted to ask if there are any plans to update the extension
for Firefox 3 now that the Beta is out.

Nick, you promised. see in your message below :)

It's getting more and more difficult to get by without this extension. Even
a minimally working extension would be better than absolutely nothing.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks (for making me so dependent on this!! :-)

This is an active project of ours, we're still working out quite a few
bugs. The best way to stay up to date is joining the
delicious-firefox-extension yahoogroup, as we'll post a public beta with
3.0 support there once it's ready. Thanks for being such a devoted
user!

Nick,

Where is 'delicious-firefox-extension yahoogroup'? Is it where I'm
posting now (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ydn-delicious/)? Is
there a beta for FF3 released yet and I've not found the announcement?

It took me quite a while to find this place from http://del.icio.us/.
Why is interactive support not provided at that URL? Why is there no
forum at http://del.icio.us/? That would make life *much* easier for
all your users to offer each other support and for you to issue
notifications of beta releases, etc.

I emailed a support request to http://del.icio.us/help/support but
never received a reply.

For such a popular addon, I'm surprised support is so fragmented and
difficult to locate....

Hi,

When we initially launched this add-on, it was somewhat experimental
so we created a separate yahoo group for the extension. It's located
here: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/delicious-firefox-extension/

I agree that things are fragmented. We've built a forum that we're
planning on launching shortly, which will consolidate all support in
one place and will be easily reachable via the Delicious website, with
no separate login needed. What was your support request?

Good to hear. :)

My support request was that the addon does not work in FF3b2 (Ubuntu).
I found out elsewhere that it's not just me - it doesn't work for
anyone. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon - FF3b3 arrives soon and then
it's release candidates.

Cheers.
